WASHINGTON, D.C. — Representatives David Kustoff (R-TN) and Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) recently introduced the bipartisan, Stop Corrupt Iranian Oligarchs and Entities Act, in the House of Representatives. This bill would direct the Department of the Treasury, in consultation with the Department of State and Director of National Intelligence, to identify and compile a list of Iranian oligarchs and entities that are ultimately profiting off the Iranian people.
"It is no secret that Iran is a state-sponsor of terrorism. The Ayatollah is financially behind Hamas' horrific October 7th attack on our greatest ally in the Middle East, Israel," said Congressman Kustoff. "Now more than ever, we must take action to stop the corrupt Iranian regime that seeks the destruction of not only Israel, but of the U.S. and the entire Western World. I am proud to introduce the Stop Corrupt Iranian Oligarchs and Entities Act with Rep. Gottheimer in the House of Representatives. I urge my colleagues to support this commonsense legislation that will help thwart the Iranian regime from profiting off its citizens and financing terrorism across the region."
“Ordinary Iranian citizens have long suffered at the hands of the corrupt, terror-driven Iranian regime. Since the October 7 terrorist attacks, the Ayatollah has continued to finance and support heinous terrorist groups — including Hamas, Hezbollah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the Houthis — while launching two unprecedented attacks on our key democratic ally in the Middle East, Israel,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “I am proud to reintroduce the Stop Corrupt Iranian Oligarchs and Entities Act to further expose the corrupt Khamenei regime and combat terrorists that threaten our democracy and freedom.”
The Stop Corrupt Iranian Oligarchs and Entities Act is endorsed by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC).
