NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Rush Bricken, R-Tullahoma, today announced more than $214,000 in Downtown Improvement Grant funding has been awarded to Tracy City.
The funding, administered by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD), will go toward enhancements to building facades and a new courtyard in downtown Tracy City.
“This is a significant grant that will make Tracy City’s beautiful and historic downtown even more inviting,” Bricken said. “I thank the local leaders who worked hard to secure these funds and I look forward to seeing the completed improvements.”
TNECD’s most recent downtown improvement grants, totaling nearly $5 million, will provide funds to 18 communities across Tennessee to restore and revitalize downtown districts. Funds can be used for improvements to outdoor public spaces and building facades.
Local communities must be designated Tennessee Downtowns or Main Street communities to be eligible for a grant.
