NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Paul Sherrell, R-Sparta, has been reelected by his peers to continue serving as Republican Floor Leader for the upcoming 114th Tennessee General Assembly.
As floor leader, Sherrell is the fifth-ranking officer in the House Republican Caucus. His duties include working toward passage of all administrative bills approved by the Republican Bill Review Committee, as well as any legislation initiated by the House Republican Caucus.
“I’m grateful to my Republican colleagues for trusting me once again to serve as floor leader,” Sherrell said. “I look forward to working hard for the people of Tennessee over the next two years by advancing conservative values and ensuring the success of our great state for years to come.”
Sherrell will supervise the assistant floor leader and serve as coordinator of the Republican Caucus Candidate Recruitment and Development Committee. He has served as floor leader since 2018.
“Representative Sherrell’s proven leadership has earned him the respect from each member of the caucus,” said House Speaker Cameron Sexton, R-Crossville. “I look forward to him continuing his role as our floor leader.”
The 114th General Assembly is scheduled to convene on Jan 14, 2025.
