Rep. Ogles Introduces The Defund China’S Allies Act

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Andy Ogles (TN-05) introduced the Defund China’s Allies Act, which would stop the flow of American taxpayer dollars from funding political support to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The CCP has infiltrated and established foreign relationships with 21 countries that currently benefit from American aid.

“My bill would prohibit the further distribution of any foreign assistance to the increasing number of Latin American and Caribbean nations pledging their allegiance to Beijing. The CCP is undermining the good faith relationships the United States has with these nations,” said Congressman Ogles. “We cannot use and abuse taxpayer dollars - nearly $800 million in Fiscal Year 2021 - to indirectly fund continued political support for the genocidal Chinese Communist Party (CCP). American leadership must act to protect the national security of our nation.”

“With the April 5 ground-breaking meeting in the Ronald Reagan Library in California where for the first time ever a democratically elected President of Taiwan met with a Speaker of the U.S. House on American soil, Taiwanese Americans are excited and grateful for introduction one day later of this new piece of Taiwan legislation. This all contributes to the aspiration of the people of Taiwan and of the free world to keep Taiwan free!” - Minze Chien, National President of the Formosan Association for Public Affairs (FAPA)

Cosponsors: Reps. Tom Tiffany (WI-07), Lauren Boebert (CO-03), Josh Brecheen (OK-02), Mary Miller (IL-15), and Barry Moore (AL-02).
