Rep. Ogles Introduces Bills To Protect Students From Radical Lgbt Activists

WASHINGTON, DC - In light of ‘Pride Month,’ Congressman Andy Ogles (TN-05) introduced two bills that fight back against the radical agenda of the LBGT movement and protect children in schools. The Keep Our Kids Safe Act of 2023 would prohibit the use of federal education funds for performances or instruction by drag queens in elementary and secondary schools. The There are Two Sexes Act of 2023 would prohibit federal funds from being used for the creation of any federal forms that include gender options beyond those of 'male' and ‘female.'

Congressman Ogles stated:

“Parents should not have to worry about sending their children to places of education, wondering whether hyper-sexualized drag queens will introduce inappropriate subject matter content to their children. My bill would ensure that not even a dime of taxpayer money is spent on drag queens in schools. It is incredibly concerning that this is where we are as a country but rest assured, I will never stop fighting to protect our kids.”

“Beyond our schools, there is also an agenda to allow gender options beyond ‘male’ and ‘female’ to be included on federal forms. Again, taxpayers should never be forced to fund the ‘gender-identity’ crises of individuals. I will never give up the fight for common sense and it starts with reaffirming fundamental truths - including that there are only two biological sexes. If you have a problem with that, your issue is with science, not Republicans.”

Mary Beth Waddell, J.D., Director of Federal Affairs, Family Research Council stated:

“The Biden Administration has been doing seemingly everything in its power to redefine “sex” and deny the biological reality of the sexes, without regard for how this harms women, children, vulnerable populations (e.g. orphans, foster children, victims of abuse), not to mention society at large. Elevating so-called “gender identity” above biological reality, including by allowing individuals to select an option other than “male” or “female” on government forms, will have real-world consequences. Many of these forms have significant national security implications, and providing options that do not reflect biological sex could be disastrous, for example making it harder to accurately identify persons of interest. We are grateful to Rep. Ogles for understanding the significance of this issue and for introducing this bill to push back against the many ways this radical ideology is permeating our society.

We are grateful to Rep. Ogles for introducing this bill to protect children and to keep schools properly focused on education. School should be a place of learning, not of ideological indoctrination or exposure to sexualization of any kind. Sadly, we are seeing school districts across the country indoctrinate children with a progressive ideology of sexuality that is harmful and anti-science, as well as expose children to inappropriate sexual content. Even more concerning is that this is happening without parental knowledge or consent. This bill will help put a stop to this and keep our kids safe!”
