NASHVILLE, Tenn. – State Rep. Jay Reedy, R-Erin, chairman of the Tennessee General Assembly Military Veterans Caucus, is encouraging local businesses to apply for a program recognizing organizations that are committed to employing America’s service members, veterans and their families.
The Tennessee Veteran Ready Business Recognition Program has no cost and is open to members of the business community who actively support Tennesseans who have served valiantly in the line of military duty.
“As a proud veteran, it’s inspiring to see businesses and other folks go out of their way to help current and former military members who have given so much to our country,” Reedy said. “The Veteran Ready Business Recognition Program will help ensure our veterans are being taken care of while honoring businesses who go above and beyond to recruit and hire these skilled men and women. I encourage all interested business owners to apply.”
The program has three recognition levels, including Bronze, Silver and Gold, which are based on a business’s commitment to recruiting, hiring, and retaining service members, veterans and their families. Participating businesses will benefit from:
- Public recognition of commitment
- Recognition on the Department of Veterans Services website
- Enhanced recruitment opportunities
- Demonstrated community engagement
- Access to a skilled workforce with proven leadership experience
The program will offer public recognition through official certificates, window decals, digital badges and other benefits.
Applications will be accepted from now through Oct. 1. Eligible businesses can apply by visiting www.tn.gov/veteran/VRBP
