Rep. Green Votes to Protect Title IX and Women’s Sports

WASHINGTON—This week, Rep. Mark Green voted ‘Yes’ on Rep. Greg Steube’s Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act. He said:

“Since the passage of Title IX, sports have opened the door of opportunity for millions of women and girls across the country. Allowing biological men to tear those opportunities away from women erases the progress women have made over the past five decades. The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act ensures female athletes don’t lose their scholarship opportunities, their place on sports teams, or their chance to succeed in the athletic competition of their choice. This legislation will also protect biological women’s only spaces to ensure girls and women have safety and privacy. As a father and husband, I will not stand by and see girls’ and women’s sports hijacked. That’s why I voted in favor of this legislation.”
