WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 7, 2024) – Today, U.S. Congressman Tim Burchett (TN-02) released a statement after voting in favor of The Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act.

“It's a clean bill that would've provided one of our most important allies with what they need to finish the fight that Hamas started,” said Rep. Burchett. “I can't hold up aid to Israel in good conscience.”

TheIsrael Security Supplemental Appropriations Act would provide military and security assistance to Israel along with protecting U.S. personnel and citizen support by:

  • Reinforcing Israeli Defense systems
  • Allocating funds for the procurement of advanced weapons systems and the enhancement of munitions production
  • Ensuring our support does not compromise U.S. readiness by allocating funds to replenish our own defense articles and services as well as funds to support current U.S. military operations in the region
  • Providing for the protection of U.S. personnel and evacuations of U.S. citizens
