Rep. Burchett statement on vote for national security bill

WASHINGTON, D.C., (April 20, 2024) – Today, U.S. Congressman Tim Burchett (TN-02) voted for H.R. 8038, the 21st Century Peace through Strength Act, which imposes additional sanctions on Iran, Russia, and China and forces the sale of TikTok to a parent company that is not based in China.

“I voted for the 21st Century Peace Through Strength Act to address national security concerns regarding China-owned TikTok and implement stronger sanctions on our foreign adversaries. We need to show strength on the world stage in a way this administration has failed to do.” said Rep. Burchett.

The bill passed 360-58. The full text can be found here
