“There's been a bunch of misinformation on the internet surrounding relief efforts in my state, and I felt it was my duty to weigh in due to the seriousness of the situation. I appreciate the Tennessee National Guard stepping up, as well as the emergency rescue personnel and volunteers on the ground.” said Rep. Burchett.

As of today, the Tennessee National Guard has:

  • Deployed 401 soldiers and airmen
  • Delivered 67,500 lbs of food and water
  • Delivered 1,500 lbs of miscellaneous household supplies
  • Removed 93 truckloads of debris
  • Rescued 105 citizens via airlift

The Department of Defense has also approved the Title 10 request for active duty personnel and equipment to be deployed. TEMA (Tennessee Emergency Management Agency) has also received 100 Starlink satellite-based systems to improve communication as they respond to the crisis on the ground.
