NASHVILLE, Tenn. – First Lady Maria Lee is encouraging Tennesseans to give back again this holiday season through Tennessee’s 12 Days of Giving campaign.
The 12 Days of Giving campaign will feature a different nonprofit and a unique call to action each day in an effort to connect those looking to donate their time, talents, and treasures with opportunities to support nonprofits from each Grand Division. The campaign will begin on Giving Tuesday, December 3, 2024, and continue through the following 12 weekdays.
“Tennessee’s volunteer spirit is seen clearly through our state’s nonprofits. From East to West Tennessee, there are incredible organizations working to serve those in need each day,” said First Lady Maria Lee. “In Scripture, Jesus calls each of us to give to and care for our neighbors, saying in Matthew 10:8, ‘Freely you have received, now freely give.’ During the holiday season, we encourage Tennesseans to join us in supporting vulnerable Tennesseans by supporting impactful nonprofits through the 12 Days of Giving campaign.”
The 12 Days of Giving will highlight the following nonprofits:
- Day One, December 3: Morgan Scott Project
- Day Two, December 4: My Bag My Story
- Day Three, December 5: One by One Ministries
- Day Four, December 6: Core Services
- Day Five, December 9: YAIPak Outreach
- Day Six, December 10: Golden Cross Senior Ministries
- Day Seven, December 11: McNabb Center
- Day Eight, December 12: Nashville Anti Human Trafficking Coalition
- Day Nine, December 13: Isaiah 117
- Day Ten, December 16: Family Promise of Roane County
- Day Eleven, December 17: Hopeworks
- Day Twelve, December 18: Catholic Charities of Middle TN
Following the devastation of Hurricane Helene, a thirteenth day will also be included to encourage Tennesseans to support disaster relief efforts in East Tennessee. Visit the Tennessee Serves disaster relief website for more information.
Examples of ways to serve the highlighted nonprofits include using your resources to serve foster children, donating items for homeless individuals, volunteering to mentor new mothers, or giving financially to support those with disabilities.
The campaign is part of the First Lady’s Tennessee Serves initiative. Find a complete list of ways to serve and additional information about the 12 Days of Giving here.
