State Rep. Jeremy Faison, R-Cosby, on Jan. 14 hosted Dr. Charles A. Fowler as chaplain of the day to deliver the opening prayer to the Tennessee House of Representatives on the first day of the 114th General Assembly,
“We thank you for each of these amazing leaders and for their service,” prayed Dr. Fowler. “Inspire them, use them, and work through them by the power of your Holy Spirit for the good of the people who reside in Tennessee and ultimately for the glory of Your great name.”
Fowler is president of Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tenn.
“Dr. Fowler’s prayer set a positive tone for the 114th General Assembly,” said Faison. “Leaders like him inspire us daily to make decisions that are in the best interest of Tennesseans.”
In addition to his work in the ministry and other nonprofit organizations, Dr. Fowler is a published author.
