— Congressman David Kustoff (R-TN), along with Congressmen Dale W. Strong (R-AL) and Tracey Mann (R-KS), today introduced the Winter Oilseed Study Act of 2024 in the House of Representatives. This legislation would request that the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Risk Management Agency (RMA) conduct a study investigating the gap in crop insurance coverage for double-crop grown winter oilseeds, such as canola. Additionally, the bill recognizes the economic and environmental benefits of rotationally and double-crop grown canola and emphasizes the importance of investing in lower carbon-intensity renewable fuels to enhance rural communities, create jobs, and bolster energy security.
