Chairman Green Joins Tennessee Delegation in Demanding Answers After Illegal Alien Rapes TN Children

Franklin, Tenn.,—This week, House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Mark E. Green, MD joined Senator Marsha Blackburn, Rep. Diana Harshbarger, Rep. Tim Burchett, Rep. Chuck Fleischmann, Rep. Scott DesJarlais, Rep. Andy Ogles, and Rep. John Rose in a letter to the Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas. The letter demanded answers regarding Secretary Mayorkas’ complete failure to secure the border and enforce the rule of law after an illegal alien was caught sexually abusing children in Tennessee.

Green said, “An open border puts Tennesseans and all Americans in danger. The Tennessee Congressional delegation will not stop until we get answers from DHS regarding why this illegal alien and child rapist was allowed to live in our community. There must be accountability—these children and their families deserve it.”

The lawmakers wrote, “Tennesseans deserve to know why DHS permitted this criminal to live in this community and carry out horrific crimes after entering the country illegally. Detectives have since found hundreds of videos and photos of Campos’ unconscionable abuse of at least 10 boys between the ages of 9 and 17 years old. In addition to those 10 boys, five other individuals have come forward to say that they too were victims of Campos’s decade of abuse. Perhaps most devastating of all, this horrific abuse was entirely preventable—police confirmed on July 12 that Campos is an illegal immigrant who should not have been in our country in the first place. Indeed, if this administration had any interest in enforcing our nation’s laws, he wouldn’t have been. In a complete breakdown of the rule of law, Campos was allowed to remain in the country even though he has a criminal record, having previously been charged with public intoxication and three instances of driving without a license.”

The lawmakers continued: “Investigators believe that Campos, who has lived illegally in the Franklin area for a staggering 20 years without detection by law enforcement, would recruit children at school playgrounds under the guise that he was a soccer coach who wanted them to play on his team. He would then lure the children to his home, drug them, and rape them. The abuse and trauma that Campos inflicted on these children is unthinkable. Our children should feel safe in their communities, and parents should not have to worry about sexual predators on our playgrounds. All Americans should be able to trust that federal law enforcement is working to keep them safe.
