WASHINGTON, D.C., (July 25, 2024) – Today, U.S. Congressman Tim Burchett (TN-02) released the following statement after voting in favor of creating a bipartisan task force to investigate the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump at a July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
“The House voted unanimously to create this task force and I think that's a good thing. If anything deserves a unanimous vote, this is it. We've got to use every tool we have to find out why this was allowed to happen.” Said Rep. Burchett.
The bipartisan task force will have subpoena power and will be composed of seven Republicans and six Democrats. It passed through the House of Representatives by a vote of 416-0.
